Behold & Become

Share Article

This Sunday (22nd Jan) we start Behold & Become; a series about seeing and savouring God so we can better showcase him to the world. It runs in conjunction with our Become season.

It’s long been said, you are what you eat. But now people say you are what you watch.

We have a love-hate relationship with the screens in our lives, selling us what their wealthy patrons want us to need. I find my stress levels going up if I watch a gritty espionage drama, and I notice I start talking even faster if I watch too many political thrillers. What about you?

One of the clearest examples of how people are affected by what they see is pornography. It’s even been shown to damage a person’s brain, reducing gray matter and harm cognitive abilities. See the Get Help: Porn section on our website if this is an ongoing issue for you.

Jesus said, the eye is the lamp of the body (Matthew 6:22); it’s a doorway to your soul for light, or darkness, depending on what you dwell upon.

So, throughout this series we want to fix our eyes on the goodness of our God who is light; looking at the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, over eight sermons.

Join us – and enjoy being transformed.
